She has worked as an experienced LMC Midwife over the last 14 years in the Southland region, supporting over 1200 women throughout their pregnancy, labour and birth and post partum period. Joan has a special interest in prenatal nutrition and is an advocate of low carb/whole food eating to promote a healthy pregnancy. She welcomes and supports your interest in this. Joan is available for births at Southland Hospital and also has access to the Winton Birthing Unit. |

BERNIE ARCHER
Mobile: 027 284 5815 Bernie has been working as a Lead Maternity Carer Midwife for 21 years. She has been LMC for in excess of 2000 pregnancies and births. A registered nurse since 1987, Bernie worked in clinical, educational, project and management nursing roles. In 1998 she graduated from Otago Polytechnic with a Degree in Midwifery. As a NZ trained midwife Bernie has a strong belief in women focused care. Bernie and Kathy have practiced as a team providing continuity of care to the women of Invercargill and Southland for 21 years. Bernie is a mother of four. Bernie is available for all Southland hospital labour and births, including caesareans. Available for homebirths in Invercargill and surrounding areas and has access to Winton Birthing Unit. |
KATHY HARRINGTON
Mobile: 027 231 6331 Kathy is a registered nurse, registered midwife and a qualified childbirth educator. She did her comprehensive nursing training, graduating in 1981 and worked in various nursing roles. Kathy took parenting classes for Parents Centre for 10 years before completing her Bachelor of Midwifery degree in 1998. Since then Kathy has worked as a self employed lead maternity carer in Invercargill. Kathy is married and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren. |
